Yongle, Qingzhen County, Guizhou, China Fell 1976, September 13, 1640 hrs Stone. Enstatite chondrite (E3). A bright fireball was seen over western Guizhou (Kweichow) province travelling from SW. to NE. Between September 15 and 31 a search resulted in the recovery of two stones, of total weight 2.6kg. Analysis, 31.65 % total iron . Quarat al Hanish............................25'9' N., 25'35' E. Egypt Found 1979, June 25 Iron. Octahedrite, fine (0.4mm) (IIICD-ANOM). A single mass of 593g was found in the eastern Libyan desert, in the area of the occurrence of the Libyan desert glass. Analysis, 12.8 %Ni, 17.2 ppm.Ga, 29.7 ppm.Ge, 0.86 ppm.Ir . Quartz Mountain.............................37'12' N., 116'42' W. Nye County, Nevada, U.S.A. Found 1935 Iron. Octahedrite, medium (1.1mm) (IIIA). A mass of 4832 grams was found. Analysis, 7.85 %Ni, 18.6 ppm.Ga, 36 ppm.Ge, 4.2 ppm.Ir. Kamacite shocked to epsilon structure . Qued Mya 001................................30'16.98' N, 03'57.20'E near El Golea, Algeria Found 1991 Stone , ordinary chondrite (H6) A mass of 90 g was found . Quedlinburg.................................51'47' N., 11'8' E. Halle, Germany Fell 1249, July 26 Doubtful.. A shower of stones is said to have fallen at several places in the district of Ballenstidt and Blankenburg, but the evidence of meteoritic nature is not conclusive. Queen's Mercy...............................30'7' S., 28'42' E. Matatiele, Griqualand East, Cape Province, South Africa Fell 1925, April 30, 2000 hrs Stone. Olivine-bronzite chondrite (H6), veined. After detonations and appearance of a bright light, three stones (at least) fell. One measuring about 18 X 12 X 9 in. at Queen's Mercy, about 20 miles from Matatiele, where it was broken up by the natives. A smaller stone of 950 grams, about 15 miles from Matatiele, and a small fractured stone of 315 grams found near the large one . Quenggouk...................................17'46' N., 95'11' E. Bassein district, Burma Fell 1857, December 27, 0230 hrs Stone. Olivine-bronzite chondrite (H4). After appearance of fireball, and detonations, three stones of 2291, 1909.5, 1844.5 grams respectively were seen to fall. Analysis, 27.98 % total iron. Fine structure, pyroxenes . Queretaro...................................20'38' N., 100'23' W. Near Queretaro City, Queretaro, Mexico Found 1971 Stone. Ordinary chondrite (H4) A complete very weathered stone weighing 11 pounds was found as a number of fragments which fitted together . Two miles N of Queretaro City. Quesa.......................................39'0' N., 0'40' W. Enguera, Valencia, Spain Fell 1898, August 1, 2100 hrs Iron. Octahedrite, medium (0.7mm) (IRANOM). After appearance of fireball and detonations, a mass of about 10.75kg was found. Analysis, 11.04 %Ni, 37.3 ppm.Ga, 101 ppm.Ge, 0.08 ppm. Ir. Quija.......................................44'37'N, 126'08'E Near Cha Lu Kou,Dehui County, Jilin, China Fell 1990 March 20, 12:40 hr Stone , chondrite (H) The fall was observered by local farmers. After a sound like an airplane, it fell about 200m N of them on frozen soil in a paddy field. One mass was broken up by farmers leaving one piece of 15kg and many fragments totaling 2.45kg. The main mass is mow at the Jilin Natural History Museum. Quijingue...................................10'45' S., 39'13' W. Bahia, Brazil Found ~1984 Pallasite A 59kg meteorite was found ~ 1 meter underground by a farmer digging holes to plant tres. It was given by the farmer's son to a miner, Aparecido Crespi. who had the object identified. Analysis olivine,70% vol,Ni content of metal 7.5% Main Mass A. Crespi of San Paulo , Brazil. Quincay.....................................46'36' N., 0'15' E. Vienne, France Fell 1851, summer Stone. Olivine-hypersthene chondrite (L6). Nothing appears to have been published on the fall of this stone. An xenolithic chondrite, with moderately recrystallised clasts containing feldspar, and distinct from Vouille . Quinn Canyon................................38'5' N., 115'32' W. Nye County, Nevada, U.S.A. Found 1908 Iron. Octahedrite, medium (1.1mm) (IIIA). A mass of 1450kg was found 90 miles east of Tonopah. It is possibly part of the Nevada meteor of 1894 (February 1, 2200hrs). Too weathered to be a recent fall, includes Tonopah. Analysis, 8.40 %Ni, 20.9 ppm.Ga, 41.5 ppm.Ge, 0.58 ppm.Ir .
